We are currently recruiting for:
Community Residential Support Workers (Part-time)
Location: Dartmouth, NS (Cole Harbour Area)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to a House Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in their day-to-day lives. Areas of support may include community access, recreation and leisure, household management, life skills, personal care, and medication administration. This is a fast-paced environment requiring critical planning, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively. RRSS is a dynamic and rewarding work environment where creativity and an individualized approach are encouraged to meet the needs and goals of each person you support.

You are committed to inclusive community living, have a sound knowledge of the principles of person-directed planning, and are highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade XII. Preference given to post-secondary education or experience in a Human Service field.
  • Effective communication in a professional manner at all levels within the organization and an ability to liaise with key partners including families, professionals, and other agencies.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong organization and record keeping skills.
  • Positive ability to work within a team.
  • Must have values and skills compatible with the type and level of support required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Scheduling is based on a 4 week rotational schedule including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
