Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to support the Head of Community Safety, Resilience and Neighbourhood Management at Salford City Council to deliver our statutory duties and strategic priorities.

The responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Actively support and deputise for the Head of Service, managing community safety services as required and representing Salford at regional and national forums.
  • To ensure that all statutory duties that fall within the remit of the community safety team are managed and discharged in a timely and effective manner, specifically those set out in the Crime and Disorder Act.
  • To develop, implement and monitor strategies, policies and delivery plans relating to community safety, including the statutory annual strategic crime needs assessment and three-yearly Community Safety Strategy.
  • To co-ordinate the delivery of the statutory Community Safety Partnership and the production of relevant committee reports, lead member and partnership briefings relevant to the duty.
  • To actively encourage and develop partnership working, building and maintaining strong effective relationships with strategic and operational colleagues within the Council (including elected members) and external partner organisations.
  • To work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children Partnership business managers to coordinate delivery of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • To lead on specific strategic work programmes including delivery of domestic abuse objectives and to take the lead on Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews.
  • To commission, develop and monitor specialist domestic abuse services and manage funding streams and grant return documentation.
