OVERVIEW

The Community & Student Engagement Manager plays a central role in strengthening the connection between Approach International Student Center and its student body. This individual bridges marketing, community engagement, and student success by managing our digital presence, cultivating leadership through the Student Ambassador program, creating high-quality content, coordinating school activities, and teaching/advising students. The role requires both creative marketing expertise and a strong commitment to the academic and personal growth of international students, aligned with Approach’s mission of creating life-changing opportunities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in social media management, content creation, and product development (education or nonprofit experience preferred).
  • Proven experience leading and managing creative teams.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Creative, innovative mindset with the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with international student needs and challenges.
  • Proficiency with content management systems, SEO, and analytics tools (preferred).
  • Proficiency with ChatGPT and other AI tools for content creation, planning, and editing.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $48,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Social Media Management: Oversee and manage Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, creating and implementing strategies (stories, reels, feed), and measuring results.
  • Community Engagement: Manage and grow our community on Mighty Networks, ensuring it reflects our values and supports the activities calendar.
  • Ambassador Program: Develop and expand the Student Ambassador program, fostering leadership and contribution among top students, while building alumni and community engagement.
  • Content Development: Create compelling online content for social media, our community, blog, campaigns, emails, info products, and online courses to drive engagement and sales.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor designers, video editors, and copywriters in a collaborative, innovative environment.
  • Activity Coordination: Plan and manage school activities that create a “home away from home” for students.
  • Marketing Implementation: Execute strategies developed by the CMO and ensure alignment with overall goals.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze social media and product development performance, optimizing strategies for better reach and engagement.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay current on digital trends and apply them to improve social media, content, and product strategies.
  • Teaching & Mentoring: Teach ESL, AAP, and BP classes each quarter and mentor students in their academic and personal journey.
  • Student Advising: Support students in building their roadmap to success in the U.S.
