Job Details Job Location: 9th Street - Wichita Falls, TX Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School/GED Salary Range: $10.59 - $10.95 Hourly Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: 8-5 M-F Job Category: Health Care Description The Day Habilitation Trainer works under the general supervision of the ICF/HCS Program Coordinator. The employee is responsible for facilitating outcomes for people with disabilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: This individual is responsible for and has the ability to provide day habilitation to individuals with mental and physical disabilities, speech impairment, in one or more phases of habilitation or vocational services, instruction, supervision, documentation, record keeping, safety, transportation and quality control. Some overnight travel may be required. The trainer will ensure compliance with HCS Principles, ICF/IID regulations, and Quality Assurance Improvement System (QAIS). The employee is responsible for facilitating outcomes for people with disabilities in accordance with QAIS. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, which includes cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Reassignment is a condition of employment that may occur at the employer’s discretion. Your work location and hours could change based on program needs. Qualifications Education, Training, and Experience Must have High School Diploma or GED plus six months experience assisting in therapeutic activities. Successful completion of Therapist Technician training program may be substituted for six months experience. Some experience assisting in art, crafts, music education, recreation, vocational, physical/occupational therapy, speech and hearing/audiology is preferred. Must have current driver’s license and be insurable under Center insurance. Must pass all Center mandated trainings to include van-driving classes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written with consumers, staff, families, and community in a courteous fashion. Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with persons with disabilities. Creative ability to accommodate the individual’s needs in order to perform the job task Ability to develop and implement formal training programs. Ability to operate all general office equipment. Ability to operate power equipment. Ability to use janitorial equipment. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and safely transport several individuals. Physically able to apply CPR and First Aid in emergency situations. Ability to use or learn to use a computer.
