SKILLS is a non-profit organization which provides a range of community–based supports to people with disabilities. Part time Community Support Worker II Position Alternate 24hr Weekends. Our wages are competitive, and we offer paid training. Starting wage is from $20.94-$21.81 an hour and is commensurate with education and experience.
The ideal candidate needs to have previous disability support worker experience, be resourceful, knowledgeable of community programs, have good computer skills, energetic and experience assisting with personal care. This position entails creating and scheduling community-based activities, while ensuring that the individuals attend these activities.
The first position is in the Edgemont community (South West Edmonton) in a new apartment complex. We are aiming to build a supportive staff team environment. There are two teams working with 12 adults. All applicants must be physically capable of performing personal care tasks (lifts/transfers) and pushing a wheelchair in the community. All applicants must have a vehicle. Edgemont has no reliable transit options. The focus of this position will be to help all of the individuals access the community to do the things they enjoy.
The second position is in St. Albert with two older women. Personal care and lifts / transfers would be required.
The successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle with at least $1 million liability insurance in their name. All vehicle expenses are claimed on your taxes via a T2200.
