Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We have opened a new service in Porirua and are looking for support workers to help support our high and complex clients, to live their lives to the fullest. We need skilled experienced support workers with excellent communication skills and the right attitude.
Support Work is fun, people-facing, challenging and very rewarding!
The job entails you to engage with clients from all walks of life, to enable them to live every day to their fullest. You will need to support them with varied tasks & goals.
Your days may vary, but will consist of:
- Engaging with clients.
- Setting and achieving individual personal goals
- Encouraging client participation in day-to-day life
- Supporting them with activities of daily living
- Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
- Supporting clients with personal hygiene
- Activities within the community
- Supporting social and whanau connection
- Motivating clients to know they have purpose
- Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
- Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
We focus on self-development, where you will have a chance to train and gain further education on the job, which enhances your CV within the organisation. Our starting rate is $24.78 an hour and increases to $29.10 after completing your Career Force Level 4 qualification with us, which is on the job-based training. We offer a lot of training which ensures you have the skills to be the best support person within Pact.

No qualifications needed, however there will be an expectation that you will be willing to work towards a Level 4 in Health & Disability. You will inspire, encourage, be a role model plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- A full driver’s licence as you will be expected to drive clients when needed
- Computer skills are essential
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve month
