DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER

The Organization:
Love and Care Disability Services
Love And Care Disability services is focused on supporting people with disabilities by enabling the individual, and giving them opportunity through providing support and services that reflect the individual rather than the company.
The role:
We currently have exciting opportunities for Disability Support Workers to join the Love and Care team!
If you can provide a positive, strengths based and person centered service to enable individuals with disabilities to reach their own potential and become integrated into the community, we want to hear from you!

More specifically, some of your key duties will include:

  • Contribute to the daily operation of services that provide life skill development, social inclusion and vocational opportunities for people with a disability;
  • Preparation and attending to varying levels personal care and domestic duties under direct or routine supervision as part of the delivery of disability services;
  • Implement and record progress of innovative programs to meet individual participants goals in conjunction with their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan;
  • Ensure participants continue learning and participate in meaningful leisure, recreational, social and cultural activities;
  • Build respectful and professional relationships with participants, families and community members involved in disability programs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders (internal and external)
  • A qualification in disability / community services or extensive relevant experience is desired but not essential

Shift Details
The shifts will be a mixture in length starting from 2 through to 8 hours, working in a combination of In-home Support, Community Access, and in our SIL houses.
We are looking for people for our Day (shifts between 6am to 4pm) and Evening shift (shifts between 2pm and 11pm)

  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Current drivers license
  • Working with Children’s check
  • Australian Police Check
