The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The focus of IUIH Aged Care team is to work with the local Indigenous community and relevant key stakeholders to increase access to comprehensive care and provide well-coordinated, quality in home care services to eligible aged care clients. About the Role? The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct care to the eligible aged members of the community in their homes. This role includes domestic assistance and transport activities. The role will be required to perform in accordance with Client Care plans, the Community Care Common Standards and the IUIH Policies and Procedures. Your day-to-day duties will include: Assist with general client care, domestic assistance, and transport activities Provide daily assistance to clients by supporting them to maintain their independence to remain in their own home Provide domestic assistance Provide quality care at all times Relieve other domestic assistance as required Apply first aid when required Carry out extra duties as required Assist in the planning, implementing, reviewing and evaluating programs Assist in reviewing client care plans and update client information when required Check equipment regularly and report any faulty equipment to the Team Leader About You? Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) Current Criminal History Check Current First Aid and CPR Certificate Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities What Can we Offer?
