Key Responsibilities:· Providing Individual Support and Advocacy:· Provide tailored support to children and adults, recognizing their unique pathways and needs.· Advocate for children’s and adults best interests, ensuring their voices are included in the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of services.· Develop and implement person-centred plans focused on goal setting and outcome monitoring.
Collaborative Work:· Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize delivery and individual success.· Foster a collaborative environment that promotes the inclusion and active participation of children and adults.· Ensure seamless communication and coordination among all involved agencies.· Community Engagement and Social Activities:· Take children and adults out into the community and attend social events to enhance their social skills and integration.· Create opportunities for children and adults to participate in community groups and activities across various localities.· Utilize community assets and resources to promote personalized and outcome-focused activities.
Education and Specialist Training: Training to meet the unique needs of children and young people, particularly those exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).· Develop and implement clear communication plans to support children in expressing their views and wishes.· Document and adhere to guidance from professionals within personal plans, ensuring responsiveness to indicators of discomfort or distress in children. Complex Care Duties:· Provide personal care, including medication administration, meal preparation, and moving and handling tasks (including the use of hoists, steadies, and wheelchairs).· Manage challenging behaviours effectively and empathetically.
Key Skills and Qualifications:· Proven knowledge and understanding of children’s rights with Experience in advocating for children· Ability to work collaboratively with professionals and community groups.· Strong crisis management skills and flexibility in providing support.· Familiarity with community assets and capacity-building.· Specialized training in supporting children exposed to ACEs and the NEST framework.· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.· Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and adults.This role is perfect for those with energy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adults. Additional Requirements:· Must undergo and maintain relevant certifications and training.· Full UK driving license and own vehicle with the ability to travel within the locality as required.· Understand that, although the role is predominantly support, it may involve personal care and manual handling when required. Pay: £13.50 per hour and paid mileage.
