LOCATION: LANGLEY, BC

Inclusion Langley Society is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated support worker to provide 1:1 weekend support to an adult female in a home setting. This role is ideal for someone who is person-centered, calm under pressure, and passionate about supporting individuals to live meaningful and connected lives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Community Support Worker Diploma or relevant experience.
  • Have knowledge and practical experience supporting individuals with mental health concerns, using positive behavioral supports and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Understand the ongoing effects of trauma; experience or knowledge related to addictions is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with the individual supported and her multidisciplinary team.
  • Work well in high-stress environments and adapt to various work settings.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Hold a valid Standard First Aid with CPR certification (or are willing to obtain it for hire).
  • Bring a positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic to the role.
  • Completion of Intermediate Mandt Training
  • Clear Criminal Record Search
  • Certificate of Good Health
  • Food Safe Certification
  • Class 4 Driver’s License required.
  • Use of personal vehicle may be required.
Responsibilities
  • Developing and following individualized daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules.
  • Adapting to schedule changes with flexibility and professionalism.
  • Fulfilling monthly service site requirements such as fire drills, earthquake preparedness, and site inspections.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely documentation using computer-based systems.
  • Providing respectful and person-centered personal care and support with daily living activities.
  • Communicating effectively and positively with supervisors and team members.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to continuous service improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Safely administering medication according to established protocols.
  • Supporting individuals with mobility as needed.
  • Accompanying individuals on community outings and appointments.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of both the home and agency vehicles.
  • Implementing support plans consistently and evaluating outcomes for effectiveness.
