AVAILABLE POSITION: COMPACT EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

MacKay’s Truck & Trailer Center is growing, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced permanent full-time Compact Equipment Technician to join our Bobcat Compact Equipment team in Charlottetown, PEI. MacKay’s is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro & Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Moncton, New Brunswick. As a Compact Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of compact construction equipment, such as loaders, excavators, and tractors. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with customers and work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience working with heavy-duty equipment, with proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail, and ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Solid background in safety practices relevant to the trade, with a willingness to adapt to new technology and methods.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
