The Companion Care Aide provides non-medical, supportive services to clients in their homes or community settings to enhance quality of life, reduce social isolation, and provide assistance with household and community activities. This role is designed to promote client independence, safety, and emotional well-being through companionship, conversation, and engagement. *Venture Forthe’s Companion Care program provides non-medical services only. Companion Care Aides do not perform personal care, medical, or nursing services. Tasks are limited to companionship, household support, transportation, and social engagement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Provide companionship and social interaction through conversation, reading, games, and shared activities. Offer emotional support and monitor for signs of loneliness or social withdrawal. Perform light housekeeping tasks, including dishwashing, laundry, dusting, and tidying living areas. Assist with simple meal planning, preparation, and cleanup to promote client nutrition and independence. Provide verbal medication reminders only; do not handle or administer medications Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition, mood, or environment to the supervisor promptly. Support a safe and comfortable environment by identifying and reporting potential safety hazards. Participate in required meetings, training, or in-service sessions as assigned. Assist with organizing mail, light technology support, or pet care as requested. Provide support with scheduling and communication with family or supervisors. Drive or accompany clients to appointments, errands, shopping, or community outings. Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must be 16 years of age or older Prior experience in caregiving, senior support, or customer service preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance (if providing transportation). Ability to pass required background checks. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client needs and safety concerns. Basic time management and organizational skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally (groceries, laundry, or supplies). WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typically the client’s home or community setting.
