JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced (3-5 years post qualified but not limited to) Accountant to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. This role requires proficiency in weekly and month end financial routines and a strong understanding of financial management principles.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognised accountancy qualification 3-5 years post qualified
  • Proven experience in financial management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in financial accounting.
  • Proficiency in Sage or similar system.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and management accounts in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Utilise Sage or similar system for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Assist in preparation of year end financial statements by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • Manage a small finance team on a day to day basis.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
