JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Company Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial matters and demonstrate proficiency in various accounting and analysis software. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making within the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Company Accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and analysis tools (Sage 200 or 50 and Microsoft Office) is essential.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred for example ACCA, CIMA or ACA but this is not mandatory as candidates who are deemed qualified by experience would be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Utilise accounting and analysis software such as Sage 200 and Microsoft Office for efficient financial management.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Mentor junior staff members, fostering their professional development within the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial audits as required.
  • Undertake financial accounting tasks, including journal entries and month-end closing activities.
