DESCRIPTION

The role of the Company Secretary plays a critical role in delivering on our purpose and upholding our values by ensuring that Jersey Water operates within the legal and regulatory frameworks of Jersey law to high standards of Corporate Governance. This role is central to maintaining high standards of corporate governance and providing strategic guidance and support to the Board and Executive Leadership Team. In addition to core secretarial duties, the role encompasses responsibilities as Pension Secretary, Data Protection Officer, and lead for legal, governance, shareholder relations, insurance, and property portfolio management.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICSA, STEP, qualified lawyer, accountant) and demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality Company Secretarial services.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and provide clear direction to others.
  • Excellent judgement, resilience under pressure, and a commitment to upholding the company’s values.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels, including the Board.
