Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and compassionate caregiver to provide in-home support for an elderly client living with their spouse in a residential apartment setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and experienced in providing care for individuals with mobility challenges and cognitive or sensory limitations. Key Responsibilities: * Provide continuous safety supervision and fall prevention support * Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, toileting, and personal care * Support safe ambulation using a walker and assist with wheelchair use when leaving the home * Encourage engagement through light activities such as crafts, conversation, and short walks * Communicate clearly and effectively, adapting to hearing impairments as needed (e.g., written communication) * Assist with incontinence care, including monitoring and changing as needed * Provide companionship and emotional support * Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive environment * Follow all care instructions and safety protocols, including awareness of medical conditions and emergency documentation Client Overview: * Requires supervision at all times due to fall risk and frailty * Diagnosed with arthritis and osteoporosis * Uses a walker for mobility and a wheelchair for outings * Wears hearing aids and glasses * Enjoys light activities and benefits from consistent engagement * Takes daily afternoon rest periods Qualifications: * Previous caregiving experience preferred, especially with elderly clients * Experience with fall-risk clients and mobility assistance * Patient, dependable, and attentive to detail * Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to client needs * Comfortable providing personal and incontinence care Additional Information: * Care is provided in a private apartment setting * Caregiver must follow building protocols for entry and sign-in * Emergency and medical documentation will be available on-site This is a great opportunity for a caregiver who is compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care in a supportive home environment.
