Job Description What is the opportunity? The Compensation Analyst is responsible for working on the design, development, implementation and communication of compensation solutions (salary, short-term incentive and equity programs) which support and align with RBC’s Compensation Principles and comply with local remuneration policies for the UK and European groups. You will provide the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and senior management with advice on all aspects of compensation programs, policies, initiatives and integrated HR solutions, ensuring that they have a clear understanding of the financial and human capital impact of their HR decisions. Additionally, you will work to ensure RBC’s adherence to remuneration rules and the requirements of Regulators across the Wealth Management platforms in the UK and Europe and therefore help maintain RBC’s reputation on regulatory matters. This is a full-time role and will require 4 days in the office. What will you do? As part of the UK Compensation Team, you, in conjunction with input from other teams, will be accountable for the following deliverables: Design base salary and incentive solutions for employees that support RBC’s attraction and engagement strategies, ensuring programs are aligned with RBC’s Compensation Principles so that they are financially viable, as well as adhere to all regulatory remunerations rules Provide advice, counsel and direction on compensation solutions to Business Partners supporting the business in its achievement of both its short- and long-term strategic objectives. You will work with major change initiatives (mergers, divestitures, re-alignment of roles, etc.) and provide advice for offers, retention situations, as well as how to address compensation discrepancies You will help to further advance RBC’s Gender Pay and D&I initiatives through analysis and reporting Participate in third party market research and utilise results to provide HRBPs with meaningful insights and actionable information and recommendations to help more effectively manage compensation spend and increase employee engagement Administer Compensation Year-End (YE) Cycle for Groups – ensuring Comp tools are properly configured. Work with HRBPs /leaders in order to optimise decision-making on all variable compensation, actively help the overall team prepare YE HR Committee materials and regulatory submissions Proactively leverage external networks to provide RBC with competitive intelligence, keeping abreast of market trends that could impact RBC compensation Drive efficiency and effectiveness through continuous process improvement, automation and streamlining. What do you need to succeed? Must Have Solid expertise in Compensation fundamentals Strong analytical skills and numeracy, with high levels of accuracy under pressure Strong planning, time management and execution skills to meet tight deadlines Able to manage and organise large volumes of information: absorb detail easily with strong, accurate recall Solid understanding of PRA, FCA and EBA remuneration regulations impacting UK financial institutions Logical thinker; able to plan action steps to conclude assignments on time Good verbal communication skills to discuss sensitive issues around pay Assertive: able to challenge requests, encourage a broader perspective and influence others Good written communication skills to draft presentations and reports Approachable and flexible, willing to assist colleagues, committed to high standards.
