COMPENSATION & BENEFITS MANAGER

The Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead the development, implementation, communication, and administration of payroll, compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and practices, in addition to state and federal laws. The Compensation & Benefits Manager supports associates, business leaders, and HR Business Partners with inquiries and situations of increased complexity related to compensation, benefits, and payroll. In addition, they provide audit, analysis, reporting, and administration for various benefit programs and payroll functions. As a people leader, they support a positive culture, build strong relationships, and provide ongoing feedback. They exemplify integrity, collaboration, and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A COMPENSATION & BENEFITS MANAGER:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience working in Human Resources and in a leadership role
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to travel up to 25% of the time to other sites
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems; Paylocity a plus
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification and/or SPHR/PHR Certification preferred
  • Must have prior experience in manufacturing environment. Experienced with multi-state/multiple entities is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Provides customer support to associates, managers, and staff with compensation and benefits questions. Practices high-performance culture behaviors in the support of associates, manager, and HR team.
  • Owns compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis for exempt and non-exempt associates, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Manages the merit compensation planning process including planning, salary range review, developing appropriate processes and workflows, pay equity studies, and related compensation projects.
  • Oversees and approves the delivery of payroll across the company, in close partnership with the accounting and finance team.
  • Manages external benefit providers and third-party vendors. Maintains and owns invoicing processes.
  • Leads the implementation of annual benefits enrollment with the support of HR Director and HR team.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Responsible for applicable annual reporting.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Collaborates with HR peers to create efficiencies across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
