Description

Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Specialist to support a Higher Education client in our network in the Columbus, OH area. This is a fully onsite contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance. Primary responsibilities of the role will be being the single point of contact for all benefits related items for the University to include: own vendor contracts, responding to employee questions related to benefits, assisting with open enrollment, performing fiscal year-end benefits reconciliations, and other benefits related tasks. Ad hoc compensation related support may also be required. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of benefits experience, as well as experience within Higher Education.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Manage policy updates and communicate changes effectively to staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding new employees, addressing benefits-related inquiries.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation of benefits as part of financial close processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with FMLA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Utilize Workday to maintain accurate employee records and streamline benefits processes.
  • Analyze compensation data and assist in benchmarking to ensure competitive salary structures.
  • Provide detailed benefits analysis to support decision-making and improve employee satisfaction.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to create reports, track metrics, and perform data analysis.
  • Act as a resource for employees, guiding them through benefits options and policies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Benefits experience within the Higher Education industry
  • Proficiency in Workday and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage benefits reconciliation during financial close periods.
  • Experience with FMLA compliance and policy updates.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze compensation data and support benchmarking processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
