Compensation Fund Officer Clerk Grade: 5/6 Salary: Base salary $99,938 – $110,271 per annum plus superannuation Employment Type: on-going, Full-time Location: Hybrid work arrangements, Parramatta (office attendance required 2–3 days per week) An exciting opportunity has arisen within NSW Fair Trading, Rental Branch in the Grants & Funds Team for a Compensation Funds Officer. We’re seeking a motivated individual to provide high-level advice and support services for people making claims under relevant Acts, including case management for people requiring a high level of support. The team’s objective is to ensure grants and compensation funds are designed, administered, and monitored with integrity, so consumers are protected and funded partners deliver strong outcomes aligned to legislation and priorities. About the Role NSW Fair Trading is looking for driven and passionate people who want to make a difference for the people of NSW. About You We are seeking someone who: Is confident managing complex casework, including sensitive customer matters. Brings strong analytical, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Is skilled in stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and relationship management. Able to interpret and apply legislation & policy in financial compliance or claims administration. What you’ll do Assess and manage compensation claims under relevant legislation (e.g. Motor Dealers and Repairers Act, Property and Stock Agents Act) to ensure fair, timely and accurate outcomes. Provide high‑level advice and frontline support to claimants, helping them understand their rights, obligations and available dispute‑resolution pathways. Capture, investigate and resolve enquiries and complaints, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately and resolved to the expected standard. Apply legislation, policy, guidelines and internal procedures to deliver consistent and lawful decisions. Support customers with complex or sensitive circumstances, Identify emerging issues, trends and risks to contribute to continuous improvement across programs. Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Investigations, and program areas, to ensure robust case management.
