COMPENSATION MANAGER | SALT LAKE CITY, UT
Nexeo HR is seeking an experienced Compensation Manager to join the Human Resources team of our client in Salt Lake City, UT. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing compensation operations, strategy, compliance, and workforce planning within a dynamic organizational environment.
As a Compensation Manager, you will supervise analysts, collaborate with HR and Finance teams, and occasionally serve as Acting Director of Compensation. This role requires strong analytical expertise, a strategic mindset, and proven leadership ability in the areas of total rewards, compensation structures, and compliance management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (required)
2–5 years of HR/Compensation experience, including 1+ year directly in compensation (required)
Experience in higher education or large, complex organizational environments preferred
Professional certifications such as CCP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PMP are preferred but not required
Expertise in compensation strategy, job evaluation, and market analysis
Proficiency with PayFactors, Grada, Excel, and HRIS/ATS systems
Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
In-depth knowledge of FLSA, Equal Pay Act, and other compliance regulations
Ability to lead process improvements and organizational change initiatives

Develop, implement, and maintain compensation structures, policies, and programs
Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, and internal equity reviews
Supervise compensation staff and serve as Acting Director when needed
Oversee compensation operations including salary adjustments, reclassifications, and pay programs
Utilize tools such as PayFactors, Grada, Excel, and HRIS systems for analysis and reporting
Collaborate with HR, Budget, and Payroll teams on workforce planning and budget alignment
Ensure compliance with all compensation-related laws and internal policies (FLSA, Equal Pay Act, etc.)
Support the Informed Budget Process (IBP) while maintaining consistent and accurate data across systems
Provide training, guidance, and communication on compensation best practices
