About the Role
As our new Compensation Specialist, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs across BWXT Canada. You’ll serve as an advocate for Canadian programsin global initiatives while ensuring programs are legally compliant, aligned with our business objectives, and designed to attract and retain top talent. This is a high-impact role ideal for a compensation professional who blends technical acumen with relationship-building, and enjoys solving complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do

Job Evaluation & Job Architecture

  • Govern and manage the Canadian non-union job evaluation process with a focus on consistency and transparency.
  • Conduct point-factor evaluations and benchmark roles against internal hierarchies and external markets.
  • Coach and guide managers and HR partners on methodology, evaluation principles, and job design.
  • Maintain up-to-date job documentation and HRIS data integrity.

Compensation Administration

  • Lead annual programs including merit reviews, salary planning, and incentive payouts.
  • Conduct market pricing and equity analyses—such as compression reviews and pay alignment.
  • Oversee third-party salary survey submissions and vendor partnerships.
  • Recommend adjustments to salary structures and salary increase budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with Pay Equity and other compensation-related legislation (Ontario and Federal).

Strategic Support & Engagement

  • Act as a trusted compensation advisor to HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
  • Contribute to policy development, organizational design, and workforce planning with compensation insights.
  • Deliver data-driven presentations and reports that bring clarity to compensation trends and analytics.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and modernize compensation tools and reporting.
  • Stay current on industry trends and legislative changes and apply insights to enhance our programs.
  • Represent the compensation function on cross-functional projects and HR initiatives.
