Responsibilities Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industries, markets, clients, and competitors to support business development and strategic growth initiatives. Utilize external databases and internal systems to gather intelligence across practices, geographies, and sectors. Benchmark the firm’s performance against competitors and identify opportunities for differentiation. Support firmwide campaigns and strategic initiatives with tailored research and insights. Participate in testing and evaluating emerging research tools and legal technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality, accessibility, and reporting. Contribute to process improvements and help define best practices for the Competitive Intelligence function. Provide responsive, high-quality support to attorneys and stakeholders across the firm. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (data science, economics, statistics, business or a related field preferred). Experience in data analysis and market research welcomed. Experience in a professional services environment, especially a law firm, strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to conduct proactive, independent research and synthesize complex findings. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present information clearly and persuasively. Prior experience using external tools such as S&P’s Capital IQ, PitchBook, Westlaw, Lex Machina, and other competitive intelligence and financial resources is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with advanced features like Power Query or macros is a plus. Knowledge of or interest in SQL and Python is a plus.
