Job Details Job Location: Romain Cross Pointe Auto Park - Evansville, IN 477152778 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Day Job Category: Automotive PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible for overseeing the reconditioning process for pre-owned vehicles. This includes, but not limited to, performing the initial inspection to determine whether vehicles are designated for retail or wholesale, coordinating outside detailing of the vehicles, coordinating the photography process, and managing the inventory condition on the lot. This position works directly with Fixed Operation and Sales departments as well as outside vendors JOB DUTIES: Primary Responsibilities Perform the initial inspection of the vehicle with a test drive to examine and diagnosis to repair and restore the vehicle’s body, interior, and mechanical components. Utilize appropriate software to direct Pre-Owned Assistant Service Manager of needed repairs or diagnostic needs. Manage the reconditioning process from vehicle intake to final quality check, ensuring all vehicles meet the company’s standards and repairs are timely and accurate. Discussing repairs with the Fixed Operations department and providing labor estimates using the standard automotive labor and parts cost manuals and knowledge and monitoring the repair time. Work closely with the Detail Manager to ensure the vehicles sent for sublet are cleaned appropriately and ready for sale. Assist Service Technician(s) with any additional needed repair recommendations. Secondary Responsibilities Monitor Rapid Recon to ensure vehicles move through the process in a timely fashion. Utilize software to prepare weekly reports of vehicles in process through the Service Department for Pre-Owned Manager, Service Manager, and General Manager. Work with the BDC Manager to order departmental supplies as needed with authorization from Pre-Owned Manager and General Manager. Perform lot walk throughs to inspect vehicles with PDR Technician to confirm needed repairs. General Ensure prompt and regular attendance. Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management. Travel as business needs may require. Quality & Continuous Improvement Personally commit to quality in all aspects of work. Provide “World Class Customer Service” for internal and external customers. Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement. Participate on teams to research, measure, and correct problems and to strive for process improvement. Communicate and exemplify the Company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Values, and Philosophy. Attend at least ten (10) credit hours of training each calendar year to continue development of work-related skills. Qualifications Education: High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required. 2-year associate degree or equivalent is preferred. Certification in automotive technology or related field is preferred. Experience: 2+ years of automotive reconditioning experience is minimally preferred. Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies: Maintain confidentiality of business-related information. Possess and maintain fundamental knowledge of the auto dealership sales industry. Proficiency with automotive diagnostic and repair tools and equipment. Knowledge of automotive industry standards and practices. Exceptional customer service skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong problem-solving abilities skills Strong documentation skills. Ability to work with software and internal systems, including Microsoft Office applications and Dealership Management System. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
