ABOUT THE ROLE:

KASE Care is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Complex Healthcare Assistant to support a male service user living in Welwyn Garden City. This gentleman lives with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and has a number of complex care needs including reduced hearing, partial sight, catheter care, respiratory failure, and requires full hoisting support. He is also a wheelchair user.
You will not be working alone in this role – it is a double-up care position, meaning you will be working alongside another member of staff at all times.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering person-centred care to individuals with specialist and high-dependency needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver full personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
  • Support with catheter care, including monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
  • Assist with respiratory care, including safe positioning and recognising signs of respiratory distress (training can be provided).
  • Administer prescribed medications in line with KASE Care policies.
  • Use hoisting equipment for all transfers – experience essential.
  • Support with mobility and ensure the service user is positioned safely and comfortably throughout the day.
  • Assist with meals and fluids, supporting adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Communicate clearly and patiently, considering hearing and visual impairments.
  • Keep clear and accurate care records and follow the agreed care plan.
  • Promote dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
