Newtek Bank, N.A. is looking to add a Compliance Analyst to the team.
Newtek Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Compliance Analyst to support the Compliance Manager in day-to-day regulatory compliance activities and the ongoing maintenance of the Bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS). This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to build foundational knowledge of banking compliance, regulatory risk, and internal controls while contributing to the Bank’s commitment to ethical operations and regulatory excellence. This role will be reporting directly to the Compliance Manager and will be required to work cross-functionally. The analyst will closely with members of the Compliance Department, as well as with staff from various business units.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge with federal laws pertaining to consumer protections and applicable state laws, including Reg. B (ECOA), Reg. V (FCRA), FDPA, Reg. E (EFTA), Reg. DD (TISA), Reg. CC (EFA), Reg. C (HMDA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and more.
  • Experience in Compliance monitoring and testing.
  • Demonstrated strong and sound decision-making abilities about compliance risks and recommended corrective action.
  • Serve as liaison between the various departments and consultants during compliance reviews.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and manage shifting priorities while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret various state/government regulations.
  • Requires skills in d analysis, problem-solving and decision making.
  • Excellent written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

EDUCATIONCERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Legal Studies, or a related field required.
  • 2+ years of experience in banking, compliance, risk, auditing, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. banking regulations or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Eagerness to grow in the field of regulatory compliance.
  • Florida-based candidates preferred

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and updating compliance procedures, notices, and more as directed by the Compliance Manager.
  • Support ongoing monitoring and testing of the Bank’s compliance with applicable regulations, including data collection, file reviews, and documentation.
  • Help track and monitor regulatory changes and assist in evaluating their impact on the Bank’s policies and practices.
  • Assist with document preparation and organization for internal audits, regulatory exams, and management reports.
  • Maintain compliance records and logs, including customer complaints, disclosures, and regulatory examinations.
  • Support the execution of the Compliance Management System.
  • Help prepare and distribute compliance training materials and track training completion records.
  • Assist in the maintenance and documentation records, including issue tracking, corrective action plans, and follow-ups.
  • Perform research on regulatory topics as needed and summarize findings for compliance leadership.
