EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years’ experience required working at a financial institution in a branch or operations department.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong analytical skills together with attention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Able to work independently and in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to use basic computer programs, i.e., Windows, Word, Excel, required.
  • Knowledge of credit union operations, products and services, and policies, including basic regulatory issues, required.
  • Working knowledge of less complex consumer compliance regulations.
  • Self-starter with a high level of dependability and self-motivation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or other related business discipline desired or equivalent comparable experience.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Under the Compliance Manager’s direction, the Compliance Analyst performs a variety of duties to assist with the credit union’s compliance program, helping to ensure the organization operates in accordance with state and federal laws. This position will update policies, procedures, training materials and other communication tools to ensure ongoing compliance. The Compliance Analyst will help train staff on new or updated policies and directives when required and may identify additional training needs and compliance resources related to the organization’s business activities. The Compliance Analyst will help identify enhancements in compliance monitoring and reporting, and may be asked to help with file maintenance report reviews, employee account reviews, ID theft red flags tracking, and fraud and suspected elder or dependent adult financial abuse, including preparing required reports. The Compliance Analyst may also attend periodic meetings which requires effective communication cross-departmentally.
