• Support the development and execution of a compliance strategy that aligns with Waza’s business objectives and growth trajectory. This includes assisting with the acquisition and maintenance of requisite licenses across different markets
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices in emerging markets, particularly in financial technology and cross-border payments, ensuring Waza remains compliant
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance measures into product development, operations, and expansion initiatives
• Assist in maintaining a robust compliance framework by supporting the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks such as money laundering, fraud, and data privacy concerns
• Conduct internal audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance measures and identify areas for improvement
• Provide support and training to internal teams on compliance-related matters, fostering a culture of awareness and vigilance
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies, legal advisors, and partners to ensure up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements and build strong networks of support
• Help resolve compliance-related issues and incidents by implementing corrective actions when necessaryAssist in preparing and submitting compliance reports to relevant authorities as required by applicable laws and regulations.
