POSITION DESCRIPTION
The European Counsel – Manager, Compliance & Privacy will play a critical role in partnering with other internal Corporate legal team members, other Corporate functions (i.e. HR, Global Trade Compliance, and Internal Audit), as well as business and operations leaders throughout Europe, in managing and mitigating risk related to compliance regulations, information privacy, global data protection and other laws and regulations. The role will lead the design, implementation, maintenance and/or improvement of compliance programs, policies and procedures throughout Europe and will work with all business segments/verticals/functions as needed, under the direction of Modine’s Senior Compliance Counsel, to manage compliance matters globally.
This position requires solid judgment, attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and change management experience. The role will manage critical internal privacy, compliance and ethics initiatives within a “B to B” global diversified manufacturing business. Candidates for this position must be willing to do more than offer counsel and advice – this role also requires collaboration across multiple business units to facilitate and execute on company-wide compliance obligations. The person in this role will be expected to work with each unique business unit to streamline processes, enhance the accuracy and efficiency of compliance reporting obligations, and implement standardized approaches across business units where applicable, building consensus with stakeholders in doing so. This role will also provide general global support in connection with the Modine Compliance & Ethics Program.
