Description

Benenden Health has exciting opportunities within in its Governance and Assurance team for a Compliance Assurance Officer.
This role will provide second line assurance that the regulated businesses are complying with FCA/PRA obligations, with the specific focus on the Consumer Duty, and to drive conversions with first line that deliver good consumer outcomes and improve consumer experiences.

The postholder will:

  • Carry out risk-based second line assurance activities, including:
  • Delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Feedback to the 1st line on the Consumer Duty Management Pack,
  • Compliance oversight and input to the annual Board Consumer Duty report
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Consumer Duty matters
  • Ensure that any Consumer Duty related issues are identified, addressed and appropriate actions are taken to ensure good customer outcomes are achieved
  • Support reporting requirements to the relevant Executive and Board Committees
  • Support the review of compliance policies and processes
  • Support with the review and approval of financial promotions
  • Represent the Compliance team on new product development projects
  • Drive continuous improvement across the business, adding value to improve regulatory and customer outcomes
  • Maintain regulatory knowledge and good practice

You will have skills and experience in

  • Financial Services compliance experience, preferably within the insurance sector.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and develop relationships at all levels.
  • Investigation skills, with the tenacity to get to the root of any concerns
  • Attention to detail with the ability to summarise monitoring and assessment findings in written reports.
  • Ability to analyse a range of data, complete root cause analysis and share findings with management.
  • Detailed understanding of FCA handbook

The Benenden Health office is based in York and whilst there will be an opportunity to work from home, this role is offered on a hybrid basis and there will be requirement of a weekly attendance at the office.
