OUR OPPORTUNITY

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal peoples.
Roster: 4D3R - FIFO from Perth
Fortescue is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Compliance Coordinator to join our Ore Processing team at Iron Bridge on a 6 month fixed term contract to cover parental leave, commencing in October 2025.
Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, this role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and safe operation of classified plant, tanks, and structural assets on site. You will manage inspections, records, contractors, and ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Standards, legislation, and Fortescue’s commitment to Zero Harm.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical trade qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in heavy industry, preferably fixed plant ore processing.
  • Strong knowledge of structural integrity, tanks, classified plant, and relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS2304, AS4766, API653, API650).
  • Proven experience in contractor management and familiarity with CMMS (SAP, Pronto) and scheduling systems.
  • Sound understanding of WA Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and mining regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills with a focus on compliance and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain compliance of classified plant, tanks, and structural assets in line with Australian Standards and regulations.
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure inspections and maintenance are completed by licensed professionals.
  • Identify gaps in inspection/maintenance records and drive timely close-out of remedial actions.
  • Develop and update defect registers, ensuring accurate tagging, reporting, and documentation in SAP.
  • Support construction, commissioning, and operational activities with a compliance and safety-first approach.
  • Drive safety leadership, risk management, and continuous improvement across all work activities.
