OUR OPPORTUNITY

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Roster: 8D/6R or 4D/3R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
Our Solomon Statutory Risk and Compliance team is seeking a proactive individual to lead operational improvements across our site, conduct audits, and deliver solutions. The role involves engaging with stakeholders, ensuring compliance and risk management, and supporting other compliance activities. Key responsibilities include management of tanks and equipment to meet standards, performing inspections, and providing technical engineering expertise. You will coordinate operational readiness, manage project milestones, and ensure all regulatory and safety standards are met. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a safety-first mindset are essential. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • API 653 or AICIP Certification
  • Experience in Tank design, installation, repair and maintenance
  • Experience with Risk Management within a Mining
  • Hold a manual current driving licence
  • Experience with Project Management is desirable
  • High attention to detail and strong report writing skills
  • An effective time manager and committed to achieving deadlines
Responsibilities
  • Must have a Strong Safety and Compliance mindset
  • Ensure all designs meet statutory regulations, specifications, industry best practices, and internal procedures
  • Conduct sitewide audits and performance reviews on Tank conditions
  • Main point of contact for all Tank Compliance and Risk Management Requirements
  • Maintain SAP and Internal Asset & Defects Registers
  • Managing 3rd Party Inspections, including Onboarding, QA/QC’s and reports
  • Assess Inspection findings in accordance with the relevant codes and standards
  • Provide direction on remediation work scopes
  • Developing & Reviewing Inspection methodology and work procedures
