Description Job purpose Attains product and engineering compliance by preventing compliance issues; developing and executing compliance programs; completing documentation. Duties and responsibilities Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with the engineering planning and design teams; reviewing design data; identifying and resolving product and engineering design issues; identifying short-term and long-range issues; researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes; developing compliance policies Prepare compliance timelines, cost estimates, and required testing Create and maintain a compliance database Coordinate, perform and document Safety Risk Assessments to prevailing safety standards and provide corrective action feedback to design engineers Manage certification schedules with 3rd party auditors and internal development teams Coordinate and conduct agency related testing for product revisions and new product development Requirements Qualifications 4-year degree in related field or 15 years of experience in an Engineering role 10 years of experience in related field Experience with UL, NSF, CSA, CE, and ETL. Fundamental understanding of Engineering principles Self-starter and hands-on approach Proficient in Microsoft Office including: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word Must be effective communicator as will provide other organizations, i.e. sales personnel with compliance related information Working conditions This position will be based in an office setting, but at times will require a hands-on approach. Occasional review of products on the production line, and/or time in a lab setting should be expected. Travel required up to 30%. Physical requirements Will be required to lift up to 30lbs occasionally. Direct reports None
