Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Compliance Investigator.
Overview: Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a proactive and experienced Interim Compliance Investigator to join our client’s dynamic Global Compliance Team. This role involves developing and executing strategies for internal compliance investigations, focusing on alleged violations of law or company policy. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of managing a diverse caseload independently, with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; any legal education is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting workplace investigations, including leading matters, triage, research, interviews and report summaries
  • Deep understanding of legal and policy requirements for conducting investigations, including matters involving employee interviews, data privacy, labor and employment requirements, and more; monitor changes in laws and policies and advise colleagues regarding changes
  • Proven ability to prepare, present, and discuss findings and recommendations at a senior level and produce clear and compelling report

Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct independent investigations
  • Perform investigative research: including reviewing and analyzing all information (i.e. emails, data files, invoices), including performing forensic analysis and reviewing company policies & procedures
  • Review and assess complaints and allegations and be able to develop and manage investigation plans and strategies
  • Conduct interviews with concern raisers, witnesses, and subject matter experts
  • Ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements for conducting investigations, including matters involving employee interviews, data privacy, labor and employment requirements, and more; monitor changes in laws and policies and advise colleagues regarding changes
  • Carry out prompt, thorough, and objective investigations into alleged violations of law or company policy. Cases may involve Company Spirit & Letter policies. For example, matters may concern complex questions involving finance, conflict of interest, quality, sourcing, EHS, information technology and security, intellectual property, improper payments, and competition law
  • Draft clear and comprehensive investigation reports
  • Deliver oral briefings to senior leadership and case owners, and identify appropriate corrective actions
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide evidence-based conclusions and recommendation
