Description
About Okoora Okoora is building the global category of Embedded FX Infrastructure. We sit at the intersection of cross-border payments, FX execution, and risk management, and our infrastructure powers real financial activity at scale. We are a regulated fintech operating across multiple jurisdictions. Compliance is not a back office function. It is a core operational layer that runs at the speed of the business and protects everything we build. The Role We are looking for a Compliance Lead who will own the compliance function at Okoora end to end, and who will lead the transformation of how compliance work is done at the company. This role is regulatory in its core, and operational in its delivery. You are the company’s Compliance Officer. You sign off on the work. You are accountable for it. You operate hands on, not from a distance. What makes this role different from a traditional compliance role is the second half of the mandate. We do not believe compliance in 2026 is a function that runs on manual reviews and email threads. We believe it runs on a hybrid system of human judgment and AI agents that handle the volume, the screening, the monitoring, and the routine reporting under your supervision and accountability. You will lead the design and adoption of that system. You will not write code. You will work with our engineering team to define what the agents do, where they decide, where they escalate to a human, and how their output is verified before anything goes out the door. You own the methodology. They build the technology. What You Will Own What You Will Own Regulatory ownership Act as Okoora’s Compliance Officer in front of regulators, auditors, and leadership Own ongoing compliance with Israeli and European regulations Take full responsibility for regulatory reporting and compliance procedures Operational ownership Own end-to-end KYC / KYB onboarding processes Handle transaction monitoring, alerts, and investigations Work directly with regulators, auditors, and external compliance advisors AI & automation ownership Lead AI-driven automation across compliance workflows Work closely with Product and Engineering teams Define workflows, escalation logic, and quality controls for AI systems Requirements Compliance & regulatory experience 4-7 years of hands-on AML/Compliance experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial institutions Strong knowledge of Israeli financial regulation Hands-on experience with KYC, KYB, transaction monitoring, alerts, and regulatory reporting- Must Ability to work independently with full ownership and accountability AI & automation mindset Daily use of AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude in real work workflows Strong understanding of what can and cannot be automated in compliance Comfortable working closely with Product and Engineering teams Experience working with AI or automation tools in production environments What Defines Success in This Role Build and lead a scalable AI-driven compliance operation within 6 months Improve onboarding speed while maintaining strong regulatory standards Create efficient transaction monitoring and alert handling workflows Ensure audit-ready reporting and full traceability across all compliance activities Turn compliance into a business enabler, not a bottleneck
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end compliance function as the company's Compliance Officer, managing regulatory relationships and reporting. Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven automation for compliance workflows, screening, and monitoring.
