Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and business-savvy Compliance Legal specialist to join our team. The role focuses on EU and national banking legal and regulatory framework AML/CFT obligations, and corporate governance. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), the role provides legal interpretation of EU and national regulatory developments, legal guidance on a variety of compliance matters and delivers strategic input to mitigate compliance and regulatory risks across the bank’s operations. The role will work closely with business units and senior management to uphold corporate integrity and support the bank’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities · Provide legal and regulatory analysis of EU and national legislation applicable to credit institutions · Advise Compliance and senior management on legal interpretation and practical implementation of regulatory obligations · Monitor and assess regulatory developments; prepare structured legal briefings for relevant stakeholders · Draft and review internal compliance policies and procedures, ensuring legal accuracy and regulatory alignment · Advise on legal aspects of regulatory filings and correspondence with supervisory authorities (e.g. ECB, Bank of Greece), support regulatory inspections and inquiries · Deliver internal training and awareness sessions on key regulatory topics · Support internal investigations and remediation efforts related to regulatory breaches or compliance failures What We’re Looking For · Law degree from an EU-accredited university; professional certifications in Compliance or Governance are a plus · At least 5 years’ experience in financial services law and regulatory compliance, ideally within a credit institution or a law firm focused on EU financial regulation · Strong knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks including AMLR/D, MiFID II, PSD2, CRR/CRD, PAD, EAA, the AI Act, and relevant EBA/ESMA guidelines · Familiarity with the operations and compliance obligations of systemic institutions under ECB/SSM supervision · Strong legal analysis and drafting skills; able to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance, with ability to advise on regulatory risk, enforcement actions, and institutional governance · Business-oriented mindset with sound ethical judgment and the ability to align compliance strategy with operational goals · Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills; confident engaging with various stakeholders including senior management and regulators · Effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills · International outlook—adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous professional growth Why Join Snappi?
