COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Location: Mount Prospect, IL (Remote)
Salary: $86,000 – $112,000 annually (based on experience)
American Freedom Insurance Company (AFIC), a fast-growing, A+ (Superior) rated non-standard auto insurer, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Manager to lead our regulatory compliance efforts, with a focus on MCAS (Market Conduct Annual Statement) and Pennsylvania insurance regulations. This role will ensure our operations align with all applicable laws and standards, mitigates risk, and fosters a culture of compliance across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the auto insurance industry.
  • Proven experience with MCAS reporting and Pennsylvania insurance compliance.
  • Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the company’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations (especially Pennsylvania insurance laws)
  • Lead the preparation and submission of MCAS filings and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal, claims and underwriting teams to address compliance issues.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate their impact to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance standards and best practices.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during reviews and inspections.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities and decisions.
