JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with all local, regional, and national regulations related to waste management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs and procedures that ensure CHC meets environmental standards while minimising environmental impact and risk.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Environmental, Waste Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in waste compliance or environmental management.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national waste legislation and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • An understanding of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.
  • Certification in waste management or environmental compliance (preferred but not required).
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the smooth running of the Compliance department, ensuring all day-to-day activities are executed accordingly.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable waste-related legislation, regulations, permits, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain waste management plans, standard operating procedures, and reporting systems.
  • Conduct external audits and support CHC clientele with the preparation and feedback in internal / external audits.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, waste contractors, and the Senior Management team to ensure smooth and compliant waste operations.
  • Maintain records and documentation for waste generation, classification, disposal, and compliance audits.
  • Provide training and support to internal staff on best practices in compliance.
  • Assist with incident investigations related to waste management and develop corrective/preventive measures.
  • Keep up to date with changes in waste regulations and ensure internal processes are adapted accordingly.
  • Supporting each department across with business with daily advice and guidance.
