ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a 12 months FTC as a Compliance Manager, within our European Shared Service department, based at Wantage in the UK.
The position of Compliance Manager is to ensure that all SSC departments meet the company’s policies, standards and with particular emphasis on Sarbanes Oxley controls. You will help to identify and assess potential risks and develop remediation plans to manage any exposure. You will implement an independent and a robust control and compliance function at Shared Services to build a reliable defence to protect and safeguard compliance thresholds.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Recognised qualification in Quality Systems, Finance or Business Administration
  • Previous audit experience with PWC or within the big four
  • Previous experience in a Governance function or Compliance role
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation
  • Problem solving skills
  • Computer literate with an interest in finance systems
  • Highly organised
  • Deadline focus
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Can work independently
  • Diligence

BENEFICIAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS (NOT ESSENTIAL)

  • Part or fully qualified ACCA/ACMA
  • Degree in Finance or Business Administration
  • Previous experience in a shared services environment
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Experience with ISO 9000
  • Previous work with Quality systems
  • Ambitious and potential to grow within the organisation
  • A second European language

Responsibilities
  • Review Sox control evidence for completeness and compliance.
  • Organise the collection and custody of control evidence for SOX Audits
  • Manage Sox audits and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with Sox Controls.
  • Organise and manage the audit process with Divisional Internal and External audit with PWC
  • Review and standardise controls to simply and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the controls in the shared services
  • Maintain routine communication, feedback and reports to the SSC Management team on the effectiveness of the SSC controls.
  • Proactively detect ethical violations, compliance issues and implement remediation plans in accordance with SSC management team
  • Ensure that changes to governance requirements are communicated to all those affected within Shared Services and amongst businesses.
  • Ad-hoc duties assigned by SSC Manager as required
