The Opportunity

We're partnering exclusively with a well-established Australian to find an experienced Compliance Manager to join their Compliance team.

This is a genuinely broad, hands-on compliance role at an organisation with a strong customer-first culture and a track record of investing in its people. You'll report to the Head of Compliance and work closely with the Chief Risk Officer, playing a central role in embedding a mature, practical compliance culture across the business.

If you're a compliance professional who wants real ownership — not just policy admin — and enjoys translating complex regulatory obligations into simple, workable guidance for the business, this role offers genuine breadth and visibility with senior stakeholders, including the Board.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and evolving the organisation's compliance management framework — policies, the annual Compliance Management Plan, and supporting documentation
  • Overseeing day-to-day compliance incident and breach management, and monthly reporting
  • Preparing and contributing to Board, executive committee and regulator
  • Managing external disputes and regulator
  • Overseeing regulatory code audits and ensuring outsourced/authorised representatives meet licensing obligations
  • Designing and delivering compliance training, inductions and accreditation programs across the business

About You

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, risk, compliance, law or a related discipline
  • Solid experience in an APRA and/or ASIC-regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, regulation and standards and translate them into practical business guidance
  • Experience operating within a compliance monitoring framework in a regulated financial services environment
  • Strong stakeholder management, written communication and attention to detail
  • Sound judgement and the ability to prioritise and deliver against competing demands

Desirable:

  • Insurance industry experience (life or general)
  • Experience reporting to or partnering with senior/C-suite stakeholders
  • Familiarity with GRC strategy, standards, tools and techniques

Why Apply

  • Broad, stakeholder-facing compliance mandate spanning two regulated lines of business
  • Direct exposure to the Head of Compliance, CRO and Board-level reporting
  • A stable, Australian owned organisation with a genuine investment in its people and culture
