JOB DESCRIPTION

Hmong Home Health Care is seeking an adaptable, collaborative, and process-oriented coordinator to lead and manage compliance and quality improvement for the company. The compliance manager is responsible for ensuring the workforce of Hmong Home Health Care is made aware of and adheres to relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies. The work includes defining compliance policy requirements for the company and preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance issues, often through audits, training, and policy development. Key responsibilities include writing policies, collaborating closely with the leadership team, monitoring compliance and leading audits, conducting risk assessments, and training. Starting salary will be based on previous compliance coordination knowledge and work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, human resources, communications, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience with a proven record of success, preferably in human services community-based services in Minnesota. Relevant work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and applicable federal and state regulations and the ability to read, interpret and apply state and federal statute language to daily business operations required.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and influence the adoption of compliant policies and procedures.
  • Ability to balance the nuances of compliance requirements and the unique needs of service recipients and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English and a demonstrated ability to write and communicate policy and procedure required. The ability to speak Hmong is preferred, but not required for this position.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines is essential. Experience leading projects preferred.
  • Ability to approach issues and an opportunity for improvement through investigations of compliance issues, identifying root causes, and developing solutions that are collaboratively implemented across stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to apply excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy during meticulous reviews of documents and record maintenance.
  • Experience administering Compliance Management Systems is preferred or the ability to design organizational system for company records to manage compliance activities.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record; and pass a background study with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Responsibilities
  • Leads and manages the writing and retention of compliance policies; collaborative development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance program procedures; and employee training.
  • Works with various departments and external stakeholders, such as regulators and auditors, to ensure consistent compliance across the organization.
  • Assesses daily operations to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies.
  • Conducts internal audits, identifying potential compliance risks, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Prepares and submits regulatory reports, maintain compliance documentation, and communicate compliance information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with various departments and external stakeholders, such as regulators and auditors, to ensure consistent compliance across the organization.
  • Monitors changes in state and federal regulations and industry standards that may affect the company and develops policies and implementation plans.
  • Contributes to an inclusive team culture that fosters a sense of belonging for administrative operations team members as well as community-based caregiver employees.
