Description

Our client is an international bank with a growing presence in the Australian market, currently building out its compliance function ahead of an anticipated branch expansion in Sydney. This is a great opportunity for an early-career compliance professional to join at ground level and grow with the business as it scales. They are also open to new graduates who are eager and willing to learn. This role is fully in office, based in Sydney CBD.

The Role

Reporting into the local leadership team and working closely with Head Office, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping the bank's AML/CTF compliance framework in Australia. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design and rollout of the AML/CFT program, including transaction monitoring, KYC/EDD processes, and suspicious matter reporting
  • Acting as a liaison point between internal business units and external regulators
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records and supporting internal and external audit activity
  • Preparing periodic compliance reporting for Head Office and local regulators
  • Keeping across regulatory change, contributing to staff training, and helping embed strong compliance culture as the business grows toward branch status

About You

  • Degree qualified in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field; a compliance certification would be well regarded
  • 1–2 years' experience in AML, compliance, or financial services regulation, ideally gained within banking preferred. However, they are also open to new graduates who are eager and willing to learn.
  • Solid working knowledge of Australian AML/CTF legislation and broader financial services regulation
  • High attention to detail with a strong ethical compass
  • Confident communicator, comfortable managing regulation-driven deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

This is a rare opportunity to join an international banking group early in its Australian journey, with genuine scope to grow your career as the business expands locally.
