Description:
LOCATION: ANY SUITABLE LOCATION WITHIN THE CITY OF WOLVERHAMPTON
We are seeking an enthusiastic Compliance Officer to join our dynamic and hardworking Environmental Services team. This permanent position is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is looking to advance their career. Based within the Environmental Crime and Public Protection teams, you will provide advice, guidance and support to residents, visitors, and businesses within the city. Utilising relevant legislation to investigate requests for service on a diverse range of environmental issues such as the condition of properties, air quality, accumulations, animal welfare, statutory nuisance, and fly tipping.
The teams work alongside the wider service area which incorporates City Wide Environment and Waste Management to improve environmental standards and support a clean, welcoming, and confident city.
The successful candidate will be required to effectively move around the city and manage a heavy and varied workload which may also include visiting premises outside normal office hours, where required. You will have proven oral and written communication skills, be able to work on your own as well as being a team player.

OUR WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for ‘touch down’ space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
