Description

BR Automotive are a dynamic and growing motor finance brokerage, committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance. As a regulated business under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), we take pride in our culture of accountability, professionalism, and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team at a pivotal time in our growth. We empower our people to thrive, make an impact, and play a key role in shaping the future of compliant, customer-focused motor finance solutions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Compliance & Complaints Handler who will play a critical role in safeguarding our regulatory obligations and ensuring customer outcomes are fair, transparent, and well-documented. You will be responsible for managing complaints in line with FCA requirements, supporting the wider compliance framework, and ensuring the business remains fully aligned with Consumer Duty and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
This role suits a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, a strong sense of fairness, and the ability to balance regulatory expectations with commercial realities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complaint Handling
  • Manage the end-to-end complaint process in accordance with FCA DISP rules, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and customer-focused.
  • Investigate complaints thoroughly, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders where necessary.
  • Draft clear, professional, and empathetic correspondence to customers and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
  • Ensure all outcomes are documented, tracked, and used to drive improvements in service delivery.
  • Compliance Support
  • Support the Compliance Manager in embedding a strong compliance culture across the business.
  • Monitor and assess adherence to FCA rules, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Assist in the implementation and review of compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of complaints, breaches, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Contribute to training initiatives to ensure staff understand their regulatory obligations.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify recurring issues and work with colleagues to develop solutions that prevent future complaints.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve customer journeys and operational processes.
  • Stay informed on FCA updates, sector developments, and regulatory changes affecting the motor finance industry.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in complaints handling and/or compliance within financial services, ideally motor finance or consumer credit.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations including DISP, CONC, and Consumer Duty.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
  • A problem-solver with a fair, empathetic, and customer-centric approach.
  • A collaborative team player eager to contribute to a growing business.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, growing business that values integrity, innovation, and customer focus.
  • A professional yet supportive environment where your voice is heard, and your contributions shape the future.
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities to help you excel in compliance and financial services.
  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Flexible working arrangements (where applicable).
