JOB SUMMARY:

The Compliance Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the Bank’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable federal and state banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). This role acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies and provides guidance to internal departments to mitigate compliance risk.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Required)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in banking compliance or regulatory auditing (Preferred)
  • Experience with BSA/AML, CRA, and regulatory reporting

SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of federal and state banking regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Ability to conduct audits and prepare reports for executive leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train and manage compliance staff
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Bank’s Compliance Management Program
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations and best practices
  • Lead the Bank’s efforts to comply with BSA, CRA, and OFAC requirements
  • Serve as the Bank’s BSA Officer, reviewing reports and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • Chair the Compliance Committee and handle all related reporting duties
  • Monitor and resolve compliance-related issues or complaints from staff, customers, or regulators
  • Conduct compliance training for employees and ensure proper documentation
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure policies and procedures comply with applicable laws
  • Review new and existing products/services for compliance risk
  • Coordinate internal audits and external regulatory examinations
  • Advise senior management and the Board of Directors on emerging compliance issues
