As a Compliance Officer, you will assist the Compliance Manager in initiating and implementing a culture of compliance throughout the Company, as well as in the management and execution of an efficient compliance monitoring program to ensure compliance with relevant laws/rules of regulatory authorities and protect the clients’ interest and the reputation of the business. We are on the lookout for: Job vacancy: Compliance Officer – MCB Leasing In this role you will, Carry out a wide range of compliance monitoring activities of the business to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations/internal procedures; Assist the Compliance Manager in the design and implementation of compliance initiatives and programs to comply with the respective legal, licensing, and regulatory obligations; Respond to more issue escalations promptly and appropriately and ensure appropriate resolution of complaints and breaches; Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy; Advise the business on relevant regulatory changes and its relative impact, ensure implementation of those changes through ongoing monitoring; Contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of procedures and guidelines to support the organization in the implementation of, and compliance with, internal policies and/or external regulations; Participate in the design and implementation of a Training Programme as well as facilitate training sessions to promote a positive compliance culture at all levels; Deliver stakeholder engagement activities to support the development of effective working relationships with the Bank of Mauritius, the Mauritius Financial Services Commission, the Mauritius Financial Intelligence Unit and the Independent Commission Against Corruption and respond to the stakeholder needs and concerns To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies: Demonstrate the ability to set and achieve personal work goals efficiently and effectively; Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems; Rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations; Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances; Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments; Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals; Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. We are looking for candidates who have a: EITHER A bachelor’s degree in business administration/financial services; At least 3 years' working experience in a financial or banking environment including 1 year working in compliance/audit sector OR At least 5 years' working experience in a financial or banking environment including 2 years working in compliance/audit sector A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
