Description

We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Officer to oversee labor compliance and ensure adherence to prevailing wage laws and certified payroll requirements. This role involves conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing policies to maintain regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of California labor laws and a proactive approach to compliance management.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor adherence to prevailing wage laws, certified payroll requirements, and labor standards to ensure full compliance.
  • Review payroll records, benefit statements, and apprenticeship documentation for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Interpret and apply labor laws, including California-specific regulations, to company practices.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and contractors on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Stay informed about updates to labor laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Address compliance-related issues promptly and effectively to minimize risks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or risk assessment roles.
  • Certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of California labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to assess risks and implement compliance strategies.
  • Experience conducting audits related to payroll and labor compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining detailed records and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret complex labor laws and apply them effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to provide training and collaborate with legal teams.
