GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that our active portfolio partners comply with all applicable federal and state regulatory requirements associated with affordable housing programs. The Compliance Officer is a self-starter with a solid understanding of multifamily housing programs, who can independently conduct file audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews with minimal supervision.

PRE-QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, finance, urban planning, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in housing compliance, property management, auditing, or program monitoring.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC, HOME, and other federally or state-funded affordable housing programs.
  • Working knowledge of fair housing regulations and accessibility standards in multifamily housing.
  • Proven ability to independently analyze, interpret, and apply regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent attention to detail, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using housing compliance software or databases

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HCCP Certification at time of application.
  • Experience working directly with HUD-funded housing programs or conducting Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs).
  • Prior experience with state housing finance agencies
  • Experience working directly with LIHTC Compliance

PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Work is principally stationary, but the person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to perform office-related duties.
Must be able to operate office equipment.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants, and community agencies and other entities that provide services.
Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must maintain punctuality and attendance as scheduled.
