Description:
Who we are looking for
As the Compliance Risk Governance and Reporting Specialist, Assistant Vice President, you will be based in Munich or Frankfurt, Germany, reporting directly into the head of SSBI Compliance Methodology.
In this role you will play a key part in ensuring the effective governance of the Bank’s Compliance and Conduct risks as the acting Secretary of the Bank’s Compliance and Conduct Risk Committee. You will produce meaningful Compliance Risk Reporting on behalf of the Head of Compliance and will be responsible for the SSBI Compliance risk reporting framework and related procedures. You will directly support and work with the Head of Compliance on the formalization of the Compliance Risk Opinion, a key assessment of the level of compliance risk in the bank. Finally, you will be a point of contact for internal audit reviews related to your area of coverage.
This role is perfect for someone who wants the opportunity to observe the innerworkings of a senior risk committee at a significant global financial institution, who is a highly organized and efficient operator focused on producing top-quality, accurate work, and who is an excellent communicator and collaborator. This person must be driven and innovative by nature, always seeking to improve and streamline existing processes to find better solutions.
The ideal candidate for this role has previous experience producing risk reporting and defining or working within risk reporting frameworks and running or participating in risk committees at highly regulated institutions. They will be familiar with European and German regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to compliance risk reporting and compliance and conduct risk governance at a significant financial institution. They will be comfortable engaging and corresponding with senior-level stakeholders on a regular basis, in the context of coordinating the risk committee.
What you will be responsible for
- Support the firm’s management of Compliance and Conduct Risks through effective coordination of the Compliance and Conduct Risk Committee as its official Secretary
- Support the Head of Compliance with the production of insightful compliance risk reporting that enables senior management to understand risks and what decisions and actions they need to take
- This includes supporting the Head of Compliance and Compliance Leadership with the production of the semi-annual Compliance Risk Opinion report
- Own and maintain the Risk Reporting Framework document to ensure that it provides comprehensive and thorough coverage of the firm’s compliance exposures and aligns with regulatory expectations and best practice
- Collaborate with colleagues in other teams and across departments to incorporate their input and perspectives
- Leverage insights gained through the reporting and governance processes to prepare management for key meetings and interactions, including with audit and regulators

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Completed university degree in a related discipline
- Three to five years of experience in a related field (e.g., financial services, banking, consulting)
- Relevant experience in a risk or control function of a highly regulated, international firm
- Fluency in English is required
- German fluency is an advantage
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
