Role: Compliance Specialist (EPR)
Salary: Up to £33,000
Location: Southampton (hybrid) min 3 days in office
The Compliance Specialist (EPR) will provide clients with a comprehensive range of expertise - from practical guidance on cross-border transactions, making sure that they are fully compliant and assisting on EPR and tax advisory services.

Compliance Specialist (EPR), the role:

  • To provide consultancy and VAT, and EPR advisory services at the highest standard, this includes the following aspects:
  • Filing VAT returns in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, and not incurring penalties.
  • Advising clients which tax office to make payments to.
  • Reminding clients proactively in terms of outstanding returns.
  • Ensuring that European filings, EC Sales and Intrastat reporting are in place where or if required.
  • Review thresholds in place in each country and notify European offices of such data.
  • Managing client’s accounts in co-ordination with the Credit Control Department.
  • Notifying clients when the account is due for payment and chasing them when the account is overdue.
  • Inform clients of potential VAT/EPR penalties within all Countries.
  • Corresponding with clients in relation to tax authorities in Europe.
  • Training, supporting and developing new members of the team.
  • Collaborate with the team in a positive manner.
  • Actively connecting with Managers and Directors to suggest any contributions to improve procedures.
  • Travelling if required to events / training.

Compliance Specialist (EPR), the person:

  • Degree in Environmental Science or similar.
  • Experience working in VAT/Accountancy/Finance department.
  • Confident and with excellent communication skills for client interaction and engagement.
  • AAT/ATT or Degree in Accountancy or VAT Diploma.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Organised and proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Works well in a small team as well as independently.
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability.
